It is April and we?ve been in France for less than 24 hours. Our flight from the US landed at around daybreak — and there was a light cover of snow on the ground.

At 3 p.m. we knew it was time to get up and get going. Walking on the main avenue through one of Paris? richer areas we came across Le Comptoir — the hottest restaurant in town. This sandwich at Le Comptoir wasn?t just any sandwich — it?s “THE SANDWICH.” The cheese was heavenly. The ham melted in my mouth.

If this wasn?t enough, we also ate many tasty cakes from a street vendor and got a coffee from a famous café.

Another Monday highlight: an inexpensive Vietnamese dinner. Superb!

I love Paris. The food is fantastic! Everywhere you go there are these wonderful stuffed sandwiches, cakes and snacks. I just don?t understand how any French woman can be skinny.
